You might think that meeting Brian May of Queen would be the highlight of a trip to London.

But it wasn’t for Care UK strikers from Doncaster who visited the capital on Tuesday of last week.

Joining Barnet council strikers at a rally and social was the best part of their day.

Representatives of several unions joined the strikers and brought messages of support, donations and pledges for the future.

Care UK strikers visited workers in York, Sheffield and Liverpool over the past week to raise funds.

They have raised around £100,000 so far.

Workers have voted for a further 21-day walkout, but dates have yet to be announced.
