Lecturers draft motion to reject monitoring of non-EU students

The UCU union at London’s Kingston University are fighting increased monitoring of students from outside the European Union (EU).

The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the university wants non-EU students to sign attendance registers. The UCU has drawn up a motion opposing the move.

It says that it is “not appropriate for academic staff to be involved in signed registers or other forms of internal immigration control”.
