Restart all-out Sheffield bin strike

Issue No. 2432

Recycling workers in Sheffield, south Yorkshire, did not restart their suspended indefinite strike as planned on Tuesday of last week.

The GMB union now claims it’s reached an agreement with Veolia bosses and the council. But the employer, the Green Company, has not signed up to the deal.

It has also been alleged that bosses have sacked union activists since the strike was suspended. This shows it was wrong to call off action.

The strike should be restarted in response.
