Migrants attacked in Ukip manifesto

The racist Ukip launched its manifesto on Wednesday of last week. It is full of panic over migrants.

Ukip would impose a five-year ban on immigration by “unskilled workers”.

No migrant, or their dependants, would be able to access free non-urgent health care unless they had worked here for five years. They would be cut off from benefits too.

Migrants marrying British citizens would have to somehow prove that they weren’t doing so to obtain British residency.

All of this would be overseen by a “Migration Control Commission”.

Ukip’s “local homes for local people” promise is an attempt to present migrants as the cause of Britain’s housing crisis. Migrants would not be able to access social housing until they had lived and worked in Britain for five years.

This a joke. Most people—migrant or not—have no access to social housing because there isn’t enough of it.

Ukip said, “All local authorities, social landlords and housing associations will be required to register the nationality of their tenants.”

Ukip, a party of bankers and millionaires, claims it wants to protect “British workers”. In reality it wants to shift the blame for society’s problems away from the rich and onto poor migrants.
