Thee Faction have made quite an impact during the last five years with their rabble-rousing socialist rhythm and blues.
They make complaints about the lack of mainstream political bands—such as the recent article by columnist Owen Jones—obselete.
And with Reading Writing Revolution, they’ve produced their most polished and danceable record to date, without compromising their hard hitting politics.
The first single, Choose Your Enemy, is a perfect example. The track yells “hit”.
But the song is all about bashing the bastards that hold us down.
Strictly Come Marching shows Thee Faction haven’t lost their sense of humour.Bastards is an angry punk romp, while Bubble is a gentle acoustic paean to freedom, in all its meanings.
This record deserves to be number one in election week.
