This year’s Whitstable Literary Festival is putting on a number of events that will give an insight into Kent’s radical history.
First up, is Telling it like it was—Coal mining in Kent.
Former miners turned authors Keith Owen and Ross Llewellyn will appear alongside film maker Sarah Brinicombe to tell the story of Kent’s mining communities.
Meanwhile, Riots, Rebels and Revolutionaries will look at political protest and revolutionary upheavals in Britain, and particularly in Kent.
Former editor of Spare Rib magazine Sue O’Sullivan will join a panel discussion in Making Trouble—feminism then and now, to discuss what women’s liberation means today.
Whitstable CT5 1DB.
