'Now that's what I call a handover'

Issue No. 1907

THE LIARS who took us to war aim to perpetrate the biggest fraud yet next week. They want the world to believe that a 'handover' of power in Iraq will take place on Wednesday.

But the handover is going the other way-from a stooge Iraqi regime to the US state and the multinationals whose interests it serves. The US will control Iraq's oil, its borders and economy. It will retain 140,000 troops in the country.

It will hold effective power through placemen in Iraq's puppet ministries, directed from the largest US 'embassy' in the world. The US-appointed Coalition Provisional Authority already stands accused by independent auditors of embezzling a fortune from Iraq's $20 billion oil revenues over the last 12 months.

Now key figures from that gang are to reappear under the guise of an 'independent' Iraqi government.
