Mikey Powell Memorial Family Fund launched to help those affected by deaths in custody

Issue No. 2469

A new permanent fund has been set up to help people affected by deaths in police custody.

Campaigners and relatives of Mikey Powell launched the Mikey Powell Memorial Family Fund to mark 12 years since his death in a Birmingham police station.

His sister Sieta Lambrias said, “It’s been a long fight for justice since then and many thousands of other families are still struggling to find out why and how their loved one died.”
