A VERY positive stop the war meeting in Chesterfield on Thursday of last week saw 55 people joining in a lively but serious debate. Journalist Yvonne Ridley described her experience in the Palestinian town of Jenin and slammed the role of Israel's Ariel Sharon. A local Iraqi woman also spoke.

Others reported on their experiences from the European Social Forum and the massive anti-war demo in Florence, Italy. The meeting attracted some people from the local Asian community as well as students from the local college, and local trade unionists.
