A demonstration for fast food rights called by the Bfawu union took place in Lincoln last Saturday.
It called for an end to zero hours contracts, a £10 an hour minimum wage and improved working conditions.
Demonstrators marched along Lincoln Central High Street and chanted outside McDonald’s, Costa and Starbucks.
We chanted, “Lincoln shoppers, hear us say, zero hours no way” and “Food workers, hear us say, we deserve decent pay”.
We later petitioned a small number of workplaces and intend to contact these workers.
Next time we hope to see many more food workers on the streets with us.
