THE LONDON weighting dispute in higher education is continuing to spread. There was a one-day strike by support workers in the Unison union in the old (pre-1992) universities on 26 September.

Now workers in the MSF-Amicus, Natfhe and AUT unions, and Unison union members in the new universities, are balloting over strike action for a flat rate of £4,000 for London weighting. We are hoping for a one-day joint strike for 14 November.
Pauline Walker, King's College Unison branch secretary (personal capacity)
