Socialist Worker

£56,580 raised so far

Issue No. 1821

The appeal is more than halfway towards its target. A big thank you to all those who have contributed so far. The respect for SOCIALIST WORKER among trade unionists for its anti-war message and for standing up to Blair is demonstrated by the success of workplace collections.

Why not take a collection sheet around your workplace? Greenwich council workers have raised £191 so far. There are lots of imaginative ways of helping us reach our target. A car boot sale in Walthamstow raised £181. We are reprinting the hugely successful anti-war T-shirts (£10) and we still have hooded sweatshirts left (£15). Phone your orders in now.

'SOCIALIST WORKER gives a voice for people on the left and enables others to hear those views. There are signs that our movement is recovering and broadening. This paper is crucial. It is important it gets a wider readership and has the funds to be able to do that. I hope you can build that up.'
Les Skarrats, secretary of Merseyside Fire Brigades Union
