The Genuine Parasites... and their bogus scare stories

Conrad Black - Embezzler Rupert Murdoch - Benefit Tourist Richard Desmond - Porn Baron Lord Rothermere - Tax Evader

Issue No. 1890

THE FOUR newspaper barons on this page want to whip up fear and hysteria over migrants coming to Britain. They brand migrants as 'scroungers' and 'benefit tourists'. Yet these men are the real spongers who literally rob us of millions.

Rupert Murdoch, owner of the Sun, the Times and Sky TV, travels the globe to avoid paying the tax he owes. From 1985 to 1995 Murdoch's News International only paid 1.2p in the pound in tax in Britain on recorded profits of almost £1 billion. Richard Desmond, owner of the Daily Express and Daily Star, has made millions from the sleazy porn industry.

He's the 'benefit tourist' who grabbed £1.5 million in a tax rebate in Britain in 2002. Yet his company is registered in the tax haven of Jersey. That means he saves £2.07 million in tax he would have had to pay on profits in Britain. Lord Conrad Black, who owns the Telegraph, has been exposed pocketing £32 million of his company's funds. Yet his paper brands migrants as 'cheats'. Lord Rothermere, owner of the Daily Mail, is from a family steeped in the British aristocracy. But they don't like British taxes and register their company in Bermuda.

These men are starving the NHS, schools and councils of millions of pounds that could improve the lives of ordinary people in Britain. Yet they want us to blame migrants. We shouldn't fall for their lies.
