Bosses at Whittington Hospital in north London have indicated they are now unlikely to sign a contract with a firm tied up in the Grenfell Tower fire.

They initially awarded Ryhurst a regeneration contract. It is a subsidiary of the Rydon Group, which supplied the flammable cladding for Grenfell.

The Defend the Whittington Hospital Coalition has campaigned against it since October.

Chair Shirley Franklin said the group “would go to the streets” if the company tried to hit back by suing.

Branson robs £2m from NHS

Convicted fraudster Richard Branson has successfully sued the NHS for another £2 million.

The Virgin boss took the NHS to court after losing out on an £82 million contract to provide children’s healthcare services in Surrey.
