Stop the war

ABOUT 70 people attended a Calderdale Against the War meeting in Halifax, West Yorkshire, last week.

Anas Altikriti from the Muslim Association of Britain and local MP Alice Mahon spoke at the meeting.

They condemned the war on Iraq and spoke about the need to campaign to end the occupation.

When asked by another Labour Party member if she would support the calls for Blair’s impeachment, Mahon said she opposed the initiative.

She said that the MPs involved in this were wrong “because it didn’t have a chance of succeeding”.

Seventeen people booked places on transport for the 19 March 2005 Stop the War Coalition demonstration.
