Cheer from readers

“With the mainstream media both in the pro-war camp and in the pockets of big business, we need newspapers that speak for ordinary people like never before. Socialist Worker gives voice to the struggles of ordinary people both here and internationally. It deserves all our support.”

Salma Yaqoob, vice-chair, Respect

Joanna Rollo from Hackney, east London, sent Socialist Worker a Christmas card and a cheque for £100 for the appeal.

Joanna wrote, “The newly designed Socialist Worker is great. Congratulations! Here is a small contribution to a great cause.”

The nature walk on Hamstead Heath last Sunday was very popular. Lots of wildlife was spotted, £100 was raised for the appeal and everyone wanted to repeat the walk in the spring.

Your donations have already enabled us to buy some urgently required computer equipment, update our photo library and prepare for a move to better premises.

Please continue to send us your donations so that we can improve your paper even more. On page 10 you will find a list of excellent events which are fundraisers for the appeal.

You can donate securely online here or by phone on 020 7538 2707. Post cheques (payable to “SW Moving Fund”) and send to PO Box 82, London E3 3LH.
