Taxi drivers

HACKNEY carriage drivers in Watford have been in dispute for months with Silverlink after the train-operating company evicted them from the taxi rank. Silverlink have now let their rank to the highest bidding minicab firm. Members of the public now have to pre-book their taxi.

The hackney carriage drivers, members of the TGWU, have had a constant picket of Watford Junction. Many came to a Respect launch meeting. One picket told Socialist Worker, 'The only MP you can trust in parliament is George Galloway. Of course we will be voting for Respect.'
