Stop the war

SOME 300 people attended a Stop the War Coalition event in Brockley, south east London, on Wednesday of last week. One activist said he thought it was the largest political event in the borough of Lewisham for at least ten years.

Speakers included Lindsey German, convenor of the national Stop the War Coalition, who introduced the Not In My Name film. The Stop the War Coalition also held a meeting last week in Cheltenham, which attracted 50 people, and over 130 people packed a meeting in Chester.

SOME 300 people from Luton attended a rally last Sunday in defence of Palestinian rights. This was built in a week, despite the council banning it. Delegations from the Socialist Alliance and the Stop the War Coalition mobilised for the protest.
