ANTI-DEPORTATION campaigners will be holding a vigil at the Home Office in London next Thursday to highlight the case of Aziz Ahmed and his family. Aziz, a political refugee from East Africa, has been held in detention for over a year, in four different centres.

He was refused asylum because he travelled on a false Somali passport. The passport was the only way he and his family could get into Britain. nVigil, 4pm, Thursday 1 August, Home Office, Queen Anne's Gate, London SW1 (St James's Park tube).

AT THE last minute the second attempt to deport the Duman family was stopped. The family still faces uncertainty, as their next appointment in Dover is 7 August. The Kurdish family of Metin and Sahile Duman and their four children, Mazlum (12), Nazim (10), Ali (6) and Inan (2) came to England from Germany three years ago.
