Health workers

Issue No. 1804

SOME 200 service users and staff marched in Manchester on Saturday in protest at over £2 million of cuts in Manchester's mental health budget.

The lively and loud demonstration received a warm welcome from shoppers in the city centre who were shocked to hear that, despite promises from the Labour government, every health trust in Greater Manchester faces cuts of 2 percent this year. Already protests have forced management to delay their cuts by up to three months, but protesters are not going away.
