Over 150 people attended an election day school organised by Respect, the Unity Coalition last Saturday.
In a confident atmosphere delegates from local branches shared experiences of effective campaigning in areas such as Birmingham, east London and Leicester, where Respect has already achieved historic results.
Selection meetings are taking place in many areas throughout this month in anticipation of a general election on 5 May.
In areas such as east London and Birmingham the campaign is already underway. The first public exchange between Respect’s George Galloway and Oona King, the Blairite MP for Bethnal Green & Bow in east London, is due to take place in the constituency at a public meeting on cuts to the fire brigade on Tuesday of next week.
