LIBRARY AND computing workers at Kings College London held a successful one-day strike on Thursday of last week. The workers, members of the Unison union, were protesting against a cost-cutting restructuring of the department.
The strikers picketed and leafleted the different sites of the college to spread support. Then they held a rally at the Chancery Lane library. Some speakers emphasised that it was important to join with the other unions at the college, the AUT and Amicus, for a campaign against the cuts.
The workers are determined to resist the management attempts to make staff pay with their jobs and wages, and for students to suffer with fewer resources and lecturers.
