Stop the War

OVER 500 people crammed into the Central Methodist Hall in Manchester last week for a rally organised by the Stop the War Coalition and CND against the occupation of Iraq.

Speakers included Tony Benn, Lindsey German, Rae Street from CND and Sondes Malek from the Muslim Association of Britain. Over 160 people left their phone numbers and e-mail addresses to be kept in contact in the build-up to the 19 March demonstration.

SOME 850 people attended a Bristol anti-war meeting on Monday of this week. Other meetings included 300 in Leeds on Monday of this week and 60 in Nelson, Lancashire, on Friday of last week.
