Hutton reaction

THERE WAS a great response to a Stop the War Coalition stall in central Manchester last Saturday as campaigners petitioned against Hutton and called for an independent inquiry. Activists were also building support for the demonstration at the Labour spring conference at 12 noon, Saturday 13 March, GMEX centre, Manchester.


MEMBERS OF the Sedgemoor Peace Group in Bridgwater took to the streets on Saturday. The feedback from shoppers was that Hutton had presided over a whitewash.


Around 70 people turned up in blizzard conditions to a protest rally at BBC Scotland last Saturday. NUJ journalists' union national executive member Pete Murray said protests were essential to giving BBC workers confidence to continue to pursue the real reasons for the war in Iraq.
