Marxism 2005: come along to this great event

by Tom Whittaker Marxism office
Issue No. 1947

The Marxism 2005 event, which takes place in central London from Thursday 7 July to Monday 11 July, will be a great opportunity to develop a strategy for the movement after the protests against the G8.

It includes speakers such as Winston Silcott, playwright Harold Pinter, Tony Benn, George Galloway MP, writers Victoria Brittain and Gillian Slovo, and broadcaster and poet Michael Rosen.

Other confirmed speakers include anti-capitalist activist Walden Bello, scientist Steven Rose, union leaders Bob Crow and Mark Serwotka, and Iraqi novelist Haifa Zangana.

Marxism 2005 will discuss issues such as whether we can change the world without taking power and which way forward for the left after the general election.

Everybody who protests against the G8 should come along to this vital event.
