Bognor Regis postal workers

Delivery workers in Bognor Regis, West Sussex, struck on Friday of last week and Monday this week in a disupte over new working practices.

A CWU union rep told Socialist Worker, “We have had weeks of talks in an effort to get agreement, but mangement has made it impossible for us to hit the performance targets. That means we will not get the bonus which most offices receive.

“There is solid support for the strike — we had 40 on the picket line on Friday out of the 130 workers.

“It’s very important that the union makes sure nobody is left behind when these bonuses are implemented.

“It shows why we need a decent basic pay structure for all of us.”
