Unite Against Fascism responded to the desecration of a Jewish cemetery in east London last week by calling a 70-strong vigil on Sunday.
There were representatives from all sections of the community, including the imam from a nearby mosque.
Roger Dillon, chair of the T&G union branch at Ford’s Dagenham plant, told the vigil, “This is an attack on all of us. We know the British National Party are standing down the road in Barking. We know they want to divide the community.”
