Home secretary Charles Clarke has refused to meet the family of Babar Ahmad — the south London IT worker who faces extradition to the US on trumped up terrorism charges.
Following a request for a meeting made through the local MP, Sadiq Khan, Clarke claimed that “no purpose would be served by a meeting”.
Babar’s family fear that he will face the death penalty in the US. He may also be removed to a third country to face torture.
