Issue No. 1797

'CONSPIRACY TO Murder'. That's how Socialist Worker described the role of Sharon, Bush and Blair in the massacre in Jenin. The paper struck a chord across the country. A magnificent 1,105 copies of Socialist Worker were sold on Saturday's mass picket of the Israeli embassy in London, with 53 people joining the SWP.

To build the protest and the May Day demo Socialist Worker sellers were out leafleting and petitioning across London. At Brixton tube on Wednesday 45 papers were sold, with 3 joining the SWP, and on a new sale at East Croydon 34 were sold, with 2 joining the SWP. In Dalston 68 were sold, with 2 joining, on Holloway Road 67 were sold and 1 Palestinian refugee joined, and 64 were sold at Whitechapel.

On Friday evening 210 papers were sold at Bayswater tube, with three joining the SWP, and 46 were sold at Hammersmith tube. On Saturday morning 62 were sold in Walthamstow market, 100 in Ealing and 160 at Kensington tube (4 joined the SWP).

In Birmingham over 200 papers were sold on the 2,000-strong protest for Palestine (9 people joined the SWP). 100 were sold on the 1,000-strong demo in Brighton. As you can see, there is a massive audience for Socialist Worker, shown by the new sales that have been set up.
