Postal workers

Issue No. 1905

POSTAL WORKERS in several parts of Britain have been refusing to deliver BNP election material. Socialist Worker has received these letters supporting them.

I READ your article on postal workers in Cardiff refusing to deliver BNP election material last week. I was so pleased at the news. I live in Roath in Cardiff and the last thing I want put through my door is some fascist filth. My family originally came to Wales from West Africa-150 years ago.

I am proud to live in a multiracial community of working class people. The BNP want to introduce violence, terror and division. The postal workers have stood up for civilised values and should be supported by all of us. Congratulations to postal workers everywhere who have taken the same brave stand. If the BNP or the employer goes to the courts to attack them then every trade union leader and worker should stand alongside them.

I WAS so heartened by the news about the postal workers blocking the BNP. If only the leaders of the TUC and the other unions had the same commitment to the struggle. It would be great to see media workers block the BNP's broadcasts and print unions halt articles that give it publicity.
