Anti-fascism

Issue No. 1967

Activists from Unite Against Fascism demonstrated against the National Front in Manchester and Medway, Kent, on Saturday 27 August.

The Manchester Unite protest was called in response to threats by the NF to demonstrate at the city’s Pride festival. Over 100 anti-fascists protested, with a large delegation from the National Union of Students’ Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender committee.

Only five NF protesters turned up. Holocaust survivor Henry Gutterman joined the Unite protest in Manchester, as did several Labour councillors.

In Kent 100 black, white and Asian anti-fascists demonstrated against 20 Nazis who had assembled in Chatham.
