Campaign against the deportation of Courage Idiagbonya

by Mark George Drybrough
Issue No. 1971

A meeting was set to take place on Tuesday of this week in support of Courage Idiagbonya, a student who is being prevented from completing his studies by Newcastle university.

Courage, a Nigerian student leader who had to flee after receiving death threats, is now threatened with deportation.

He has missed several months of study after he was held in detention centres. A campaign supported by university students and staff won his release.

The British government has rejected his asylum claim and he is currently awaiting a judicial review.
