Socialist Worker appeal

Our appeal total so far has reached £33,128!

Issue No. 1971

The appeal to raise £150,000 for Socialist Worker has gone well past £30,000.

A council worker in Greenwich, south London, has already collected £300 by going round his workmates and has promised he will collect off them every week.

A collection taken at the Leicester East branch of the Amicus union brought in £50, a regular paper reader in Homerton, east London gave £10 while one Stop the War activist wrote out a cheque

for £50.

Fund raising events range from screenings of the film October in Bristol, Sheffield and London to a sponsored rock climb by Huddersfield readers!

Manijeh Sheibani Anti-war activist:

“For a long time I have been fighting against oppression, but especially since I came here as a refugee from Iran. Ever since then, Socialist Worker has always been behind me through my continual struggle for change.

“Not only has it consistently unmasked the truth behind the lies we receive from the government and the media, it has given a real voice to the voiceless.

“I have donated to the appeal because I think that it is crucial that Socialist Worker continues to do so.

“Without this paper our fight would be a lot harder.”
