The appeal to raise £150,000 for Socialist Worker is gaining pace with money coming in from readers across the country.

Marie Xenophontos, an NHS worker and anti-war campaigner in north London says, “As we have a mainstream media that is shamelessly subservient to the government and big business, it is always refreshing to read Socialist Worker to restore some sanity.

“It consistently exposes the numerous lies and double standards of our political leaders, while relentlessly campaigning against grave injustices such as war and poverty.

“It is for this reason that I have supported the Socialist Worker’s appeal.”

Also this week a collection at a Manchester engineering plant raised £25 among the readers with more to come. A Manchester council worker donated £25, while Murtaza Ali sent £20 in gratitude after our coverage of the Kashmiri earthquake. You too can donate to our appeal by post, phone or online (see details below).
