Aberystwyth

We ran a Respect stall at a 350 strong “Audience with George Galloway” in Aberystwyth, Dyfed.

We were swamped with interest — 46 people signed our contact sheet.

On the back of this, and a successful freshers’ fair at Aberystwyth university where over 20 students signed up, we held a meeting to launch Aberystwyth Respect on Wednesday of last week.

Student meetings

Some 350 students attended a meeting with George Galloway MP at the London School of Economics. Respect meetings also took place in Birmingham university and Warwick university, attracting 36 and 24 students respectively.

Film showing

Wandsworth and Merton Respect group in south London held two film showings last month.

Some 25 people came to see A Letter to Mr Blair a documentary about the occupation of Iraq.

Some 32 people saw At The River I Stand.
