Eileen Short wins big support

Issue No. 1975

A lobby of Tower Hamlets council is set to take place in support of Eileen Short next Monday, 7 November, which is ban bullying at work day.

Eileen is facing redundancy after her bosses at the Labour-run council in east London attempted to push her out of her job as press officer.

Private consultants Verve were brought in to review the section of the council where Eileen works. After a two hour interview, Eileen was informed that she had been unsuccessful in applying for her own job, even though she was the only candidate.

Messages of protest have been flooding in from unions and tenants groups throughout the borough.
