Socialist Worker appeal

Total so far £80,117

Issue No. 1976

The appeal to raise £150,000 for Socialist Worker has reached over half way to its target.

A number of students have sent money into the appeal this week. Adam Lambert from Queen Mary University of London has given £20. Alistair Burns from Leeds University sent in £20.

Arif Sayeed is a student at Leicester university. He also gave £20 to the appeal and is organising a fundraising meal and film show.

Arif said, “The media nowadays feigns non-bias but every paper prints lies and biased stories to make the public live in fear.

“Socialist Worker shows us what is really going on.

“Socialist Worker gives you the truth, however hard it may be to take. It also instils an air of hope that there are still people around who care.

“Students should be at the forefront of change, and Socialist Worker is a vehicle which we can use to spread the truth about injustices in the world.

“You should donate so that the paper can carry on bringing the truth to light.”

Tony Benn will be speaking at a film showing of Paul Robeson’s Proud Valley this Friday 11 November at Friends House in central London.
