Socialist Worker appeal

Total so far £101,573

Issue No. 1979

As we breakthrough the £100,000 mark, we’d like to thank all our readers who have donated and made the appeal such a success so far.

Three London tube workers raised £444 through a sponsored walk in the Essex countryside.

A Hampshire subscriber sent us the greetings, “Keep fighting, keep printing” with a cheque enclosed for £30 to help us do just that. From further north a subscriber in Caithness, not to be outdone, sent us £50.

A pensioner from Huddersfield kindly gave £40, and a Respect member in Leeds donated £5. A Sheffield lecturer raised £10 from his workmates.

Over £1,000 was raised last Saturday night in Manchester when over 400 people came to hear Mark Steel talk on Che Guevara.

Socialist Worker needs the money to help to continue extra pages when and where they are needed and to travel to report on crucial flash points. The colour pictures you enjoy each week often cost over £100.

Don’t forget you can win a trip to Venezuela for two in our big Red Raffle!

Contact the appeal address to order books of raffle tickets to sell to your friends and family.

Every little helps, so as we count down to our £150,000 target keep the donations and the collections flowing.
