Protests over CIA flights

Issue No. 1982

Protesters gathered outside three major Scottish airports before Christmas to make their voices heard against the US’s extraordinary rendition of “terror suspects”.

This means the kidnapping of individuals and flying them to another country where they are tortured. The Scottish airports are used as stop over and refuelling points for these CIA torture flights.

Prestwick airport’s slogan of “Pure dead Brilliant!” was changed by protesters to “Pure dead Torture”.
