The Stop the War Coalition in Greece and Pakistani immigrant organisations have called a demonstration over the seizure and torture of 28 Pakistani men last year by the Greek intelligence services (Tortured as MI6 watched, 7 January).
The scandal is fast exposing the fragility of the Tory government in Greece. A parliamentary committee was due to discuss the issue on Wednesday of this week.
Pressure on the Greek government minister responsible for the intelligence service is already mounting.
In Britain, foreign secretary Jack Straw should be coming under similar pressure — MI6 were present at the interrogations of the illegally seized men.
Socialist Worker, along with the Morning Star, has refused to comply with a government order not to name Nicholas Langman as the MI6 officer.
That stance was acknowledged last week in the Independent newspaper.
