Socialist Worker hits the mark

Issue No. 1988

At Saturday’s Unite Against Islamophobia rally in Trafalgar Square, London, over 900 copies of Socialist Worker were sold.

Last Wednesday our website received 14,000 visits – our second highest daily total - mostly from people who wanted to read what we said about Islamophobia.

Tony from Leeds reports, “One hundred and eighty! That’s how many Socialist Workers we sold in Leeds city centre.

“Many people were angered by the media coverage and were grateful that we were saying what we were - black and white, Muslim and non-Muslim.

“We sold eight papers at the Quarry House civil service office, 14 at Beeston mosque and 43 at the train station.”

Dan from Preston reports, “At our Respect meeting we discussed how the media had showed its true colours over the racist cartoons.

“Socialist Worker said something markedly different from any other paper.”
