Land Registry

Issue No. 2004

Workers in the Land Registry are discussing taking strike action to defend their jobs after management last week announced plans to merge or close a number of offices.

The Lytham base in Lancashire, where 343 people are employed, will merge with the nearby site at Warton by 2010, which employs just over 200 workers.

The two Birkenhead offices will merge by 2012 and the York office will close by 2015.
