Thousands marched through central London on Saturday as part of CND's 'Don't Start Wars' protest. Many carried placards denouncing war with Iraq, while others carried Palestinian flags. Socialist Worker sellers petitioned demonstrators calling for justice for Palestine. Well over 800 copies of Socialist Worker were sold, with over 40 people joining the Socialist Workers Party.
In the run-up to the protest SWP members were out leafleting and petitioning against war with Iraq. In central London 70 papers were sold at Tottenham Court Road tube, 46 at High Street Kensington, and 43 in Bayswater.
On Tuesday at a monster rally called by the Stop the War Coalition, Tony Benn Jeremy Corbyn, Louise Christian and Bruce Kent spoke against Bush and Blair's war drive. Over 100 copies of Socialist Worker were sold and 8 people joined the SWP.
