by Tim Evans
Issue No. 2017

Post Office workers in south west Wales struck for two hours on Monday in protest at the closure of offices in Swansea and Llanelli.

Some 93 members of staff from seven offices across south west Wales walked out. In Swansea strikers picketed Kingsway post office and

protested outside WHSmith. The firm is due to take over the Post Office franchise but is refusing to take on staff on their current terms and conditions.

“We’ve had loads of public support,” said Yvonne in Swansea. “We’ve never been as well supported in a strike.”
