Defend Yunus Bakhsh

Issue No. 2022

Health workers were set to lobby the trust board of North of Tyne Health on Wednesday of this week to support suspended union activist Yunus Bakhsh.

Yunus, the joint branch secretary of the North of Tyne branch of the Unison union, was suspended from work at the end of September.

Management at the trust did not give a reason why he had been suspended.

The suspension is being seen as an attack on one of the best organised Unison health branches in the country.

Yunus is a leading health activist and longstanding union member.

He has received support from many other union members across the country.

E-mail Alan Hall, director of North of Tyne Health Trust, to oppose the attacks: alan.hall@nmht.nhs.uk
