WORKERS AT the F Bender Ltd paper tableware company in Wrexham returned to work last week after a five-day strike over pay.

The 150 workers voted for action after rejecting the company’s 2.5 percent pay offer.

Workers at the factory had given up a pay rise for the last two years as part of a deal with the company to provide extra cover for holidays.

One worker at the plant says, “It seems only a small difference between the 2.5 percent offer and the 3.5 percent we want

“But there is a strong feeling that we have been pissed about. We have voted either against the offer or for strike in three separate ballots in the last few months.”
