Carillion has collapsed. For years it was one of the go-to firms for outsourcing and privatisation, first with New Labour and now with the Tories.

Carillion is Britain’s second-largest construction company, employing 43,000 people globally.

It is one of the largest suppliers of services to the public sector and has control of some of the largest government contracts.

It’s collapse is not an accident, and nor is it a one-off.

It is further damning proof of the failure of the market to provide for us at the most basic level.

Jeremy Corbyn is right to say it is a watershed moment. Labour should seize this opportunity to turn the tables, to demand an end to privatisations – and to renationalise what the corporate vultures have taken from us.

Come and join the discussion about how we can make that a reality.

All welcome -
