“If the union wants people to keep paying the political fund it had better stop giving the money to Labour. Why must we keep funding the people who are attacking us? In my office four people have stopped paying the political fund.”

Simone from London

“We’ve started to demand that our bags are weighed before we go out. This is basic health and safety, but the Dom (delivery office manager) said it was unofficial industrial action!

“I told him to stuff it, and he went saying he’d be back when he got the OK to suspend me. I’m still waiting – how can it be illegal to demand your rights?”

Mike from Newcastle

“Great mood on the picket line, but I’ve had my fill of one-dayers and frustration will grow unless we have a big push. It’s obvious the government thinks it’s critical. We have to raise the level and get it seen as central by the other unions.”

Gerry from Glasgow

“The picket line was fully manned, with 100 percent solidarity. We need to escalate action though, because Leighton and Crozier are determined to crush the CWU and have all postal workers on their knees. It’s tough for us all, but please stay strong comrades.”

Wade from Torquay
