Smash the anti-union laws

Every time there’s a job cut, a pension slashed or a wage frozen it affects more than the workers who are directly hit.

It affects their friends, their families, their neighbours.

When there’s a closure of a hospital, a school, a factory or a call centre, if they are affected then so am I. And I should be able to take action in their support.

And I have. My first strike was 30 years ago. Workers at Rolls Royce walked out in support of nurses and the NHS. That was legal then. But it’s been criminalised. Laws were brought in by Thatcher, and then left on the book for 13 years by Labour. As a union we should be fighting these laws.”
