Up to 100,000 rail workers in South Korea struck for three weeks last month against government plans for running a new bullet train service.

Unions say the plans amount to privatisation.

Tens of thousands of workers joined a mass demonstration in Seoul in solidarity with the strikers.

But although the government agreed to set up a committee to look into the running of the railways, it is going to push ahead with the plans.

Unions have said they will consider further action.
